TIME MACHINES. DENSIDAD-ES

Carlos García. 2004

The concept and principal subject that I have worked on is Time. But, what is time? Is it generation or degeneration? Is it creation or destruction? Where does it generate and where does it degenerate? Is it a delusion of our senses? Or do our senses manage to deceive it? When something dies, it does not degenerate, but it transforms itself. When it ages, it does not degenerate but transforms. Time does not start, does not finish, it does not come back. It is simply there. Neither is it lineal. It is rather our senses that are lineal. Time in itself does not exist. It is man who has named a concept that he does not understand. He can only perceive its consequences and use it to understand and establish connections.

When we have a can over a table, and we move it, we can state that it has suffered a displacement in space and that it has taken a time to fulfill it. However it is our senses and therefore our perception that name this effect. The object had already suffered a movement even before being touched. It is a punctual movement. If we were able to move it in the opposite direction towards cosmic time and speed, then our senses (should they be able to appreciate it) would register a punctual movement, but it would remain static at the global level.

All living creatures, matter and gases, suffer different transformations, some faster than others. Time is not the decisive element of these transformations but it is their relation with the surrounding elements and their physical and chemical reactions.
